The national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline fell for the third consecutive week, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The national average, at $3.947 per gallon, fell 4.5 cents compared to the $3.992 average, for the week of April 22, which was off 2.3 cents compared to the $4.015 average, for the week of April 15. That was preceded by a 6.5-cent increase, to $4.004, for the week of April 8.
