The practice serves as a viable strategy for companies challenged by today’s unpredictable economy – helping to improve service levels, reduce transportation costs and consolidate shipments to destination. This report explores the most common practices, biggest challenges, and emerging trends in cross-docking nationwide and examines changes in cross-docking practices within the last three years.

This legislation takes the same name of a previous bill rolled out in April 2014, which did not make enough traction to be signed into a law, and would replace the current authorization, MA-21, whose most recent continuing extension is set to expire at the end of May.
