Consolidated Freightways has named Patrick J. Brady senior vice president of sales and marketing. Brady, a 21-year veteran of the company, is responsible for all marketing, sales support, and customer-service activities for the $2.4 billion company. He most recently served as eastern regional vice president of operations.

Ryder System Inc. has promoted L. Michael Shelton to senior vice president-sales, marketing, and e-commerce. Shelton will retain responsibility, staffing, and resources related to his previous position as senior vice president of e-commerce.

The American Association of Port Authorities' board of directors unanimously chose Ross Gaudreault as chairman of the board-elect. Gaudreault is currently president and chief executive officer of the Quebec Port Authority.

Matson Intermodal System has announced the promotion of Ronald J. Forest to president and chief executive officer. MIS is the largest subsidiary of Matson Navigation Co. Forest formerly served as vice president, area manager, Southern California.

USF Worldwide Logistics has appointed Frank Reuwer to the position of president and chief operating officer. Reuwer was previously senior vice president of operations. He will take over the day-to-day operations and financial responsibility of USF Logistics in the United States and Canada.

The Surface Transportation Board (STB) has elected Ellen D. Hanson general counsel of the board. Hanson has been an attorney with the STB and its predecessor, the Interstate Commerce Commission. She has served as the deputy general counsel since 1994.

CNF, a management company of global supply chain services, has named Mark C. Thickpenny vice president and treasurer. He was promoted from his role as assistant treasurer-finance and planning.

The Warehousing Education and Research Council has announced the retirement of Thomas E. Sharpe effective June 30. Sharpe has served as executive director since 1985.

Menlo Logistics has announced the promotion of three staff members to high-level management positions. Joseph M. Dagnese was named vice president of operations. Andy Dyer has been promoted to Dagnese's former position, director of transportation, from his role as logistics manager. Steve Hill has been appointed director of logistics engineering.

Pacer International Inc. has named Adriene Bailey vice president for planning. She will be based in the company's Jacksonville, Fla., offices.

American Schenker Inc. has named Hartmut Luhr as its new president and chief executive officer. He was previously responsible for the worldwide product management of sea freight.

David Scott has joined hsupply.com, an e-services company for the hospitality supplies industry, as director of supply chain management.

Logistix has appointed Dolph Westerbos to vice president and general manager, e-business solutions. Westerbos has been with the company since 1994.
