Troy Container Line, which provides full container and LCL service to and from more than 500 ports and points worldwide, has opened a new office in Braintree, Mass., just outside of Boston.

Delta Nu Alpha Transportation (DNA), a non-profit organization that promotes education in the transportation and logistics fields, has announced that David Owen, president of the National Association of Small Trucking Companies (NASTC), and his staff will take on the task of administration for DNA.

CD&L Inc., provider of customized, time-critical ground delivery services, has announced the sale of its air division, Sureway Worldwide, to Sureway's senior management and a former owner.

Viking Freight Inc., an LTL carrier providing Western regional transportation service and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., has expanded its Reno/Sparks, Nev., service center to increase its freight capacity. Thirty doors have been added to the facility, increasing the total number of doors to 74.

Speedlink, an affiliate of Genesee & Wyoming Inc., has joined with Union Pacific Railroad to offer logistics services for shippers and receivers in Washington, Oregon, and southern California.

Transport International Pool (TIP), a GE Capital company, is offering Web-based one-way route opportunities with multi-bidding options. Customers can rent equipment at reduced rates, locate free move routes, or provide one-way trailer support on the TIP Web site, www.tiptrailers.com. In other TIP news, the company has acquired the assets of Paragon Leasing, a U.S. trailer-leasing business based in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Northrop Grumman Corp. has acquired Mannesmann Dematic Postal Automation S.A., a European manufacturer of postal sorting equipment. MDPA will be known as Solystic S.A., a Northrop Grumman company, and will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of the corporation.

Ozburn-Hessey Logistics, a logistics management company, has announced a merger with ProChannel Distribution Partners to create a supply chain management firm. The newly combined operation will be known as Ozburn-Hessey Logistics and will be headquartered in Nashville, Tenn.
