Article-Surveillance Tag Is Compatible With Laser Printers

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 4/1/2000

Meto Inc. has unveiled "Kimcoil," an electronic article-surveillance tag and label that is compatible with both laser and thermal printers. According to the manufacturer, the device's "hot stamped" radio-frequency process technology makes it the only surveillance tag that can be applied by high-volume laser printers.

The integrated tag or label can be printed and affixed to a wide range of retail and consumer products in either manufacturing or distribution. The tags or labels are compatible with 8.2 megahertz (MHz) radio-frequency equipment. The product has a manufacturing tolerance of plus or minus 4 percent from the center frequency of 8.2 MHz to assure system and deactivation compatibility.

The product comes in stock roll formats, including plain white thermal-transfer and facsimile bar-code labels. Custom options such as custom printing, sizes, tags, pin-fed formats, variable data imprinting, and packaging are also available.
