Symbol Technologies has released a new wearable mobile computer and scanner system for computing in extreme environments. Designed for customers requiring hands-free operation, the wearable computers are appropriate for such applications as distribution-center order picking, receiving, replenishment, and loading. This series is also well-suited for logistics applications, including package sorting and handling.
Worn on either the wrist or the hip, the wearable computers allow users to move freely and scan data, access business-critical information, and perform data entry in real time. The mobile computer also offers headset support for voice-directed picking.
Featuring an IP-54 sealing rating and the ability to withstand four-foot drops to concrete, the system is built to withstand everyday use in a range of operating temperatures.
