IRVINE, Calif.,— Printronix has introduced patented MP2 RFID encoding technology that is designed specifically to EPCglobal Generation 2 (Gen 2) encoding specifications. The new MP2 technology will be used in its SmartLine product families. Printronix has also introduced a new six-inch RFID printer. With this, the new SL5000r MP2 and SLPA7000r MP2 become the first RFID printer and printer applicator families designed to Gen 2 encoding specifications.
The encoding technology includes an optimized Gen 2 design to support the widest range of Gen 2 tags while offering continued support of EPC Class 0, 0+, 1 and Philips UCode 1.19 protocols. For global compliance, the MP2 can switch frequencies with regional upgrade kits.
