There's just the slightest whiff of higher inflation on the capital-equipment front, following a long period of flat to declining prices for planes, trains, and trucks. Heavy-truck prices inched up 0.2% between February and March, but remain slightly lower than at this time last year. Truck-trailer prices, however, jumped a sharp 0.9% during March and were 3.6% higher this March than in March 1997.
