The National Transportation Exchange (NTE) of Downers Grove, Ill., has said its online freight matching service will become available to users of the mySAP.com e-commerce service early next year. NTE struck a deal with SAP AG of Waldorf, Germany, the leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendor. SAP's effort to create a business environment for trading partner collaboration on the Internet is a major component of its mySAP.com marketing initiative.
The deal means that SAP users will have access to NTE's online service, which matches available freight with carriers seeking loads in a particular lane. NTE's search engine optimizes the placement of all shipments based on preferred routing and price.
