By Bridget McCrea -- Logistics Management, 12/1/2006
For the fourth consecutive year, experts from all corners of the business world gathered to discuss the many issues confronting today’s supply chain professionals. Some were industry analysts, some were logistics specialists, and others were CEOs of companies that are grappling with the challenges that many Logistics Management and Supply Chain Management Review readers are facing right now.
The 2006 Global Supply Chain Conference, held in a Webcast format, highlighted excellence in logistics management and the advantages of having a strong, streamlined supply chain. The conference included nine seminars on topics related to these recurring themes, divided into two tracks: one for Logistics Management and the other for Supply Chain Management Review.
The event kicked off with Logistics Management’s keynote session, featuring Luke Ritter, CEO of Trident Global Partners; Rosalyn Wilson of Reality Based IT Services Ltd.; and terrorism expert J. Michael Barrett discussing vulnerabilities in today’s supply chains and how to seal those gaps to ensure maximum security across the entire enterprise.
The keynote session for Supply Chain Management Review featured M. Eric Johnson, Director of the Center for Digital Strategies at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business, discussing how supply chain managers can make the uncertainty and change that are endemic to today’s business environment work to their advantage.
