Companies recently honored for operational excellence:

* Pfizer Inc. has awarded its annual Transportation Service Provider Excellence Award to: American Freightways Inc., Federal Express Corp., Fritz Cos. Inc., and Roberts Express Inc.
* Mercer Transportation has received LaBarge Pipe & Steel Co.'s 1998 Quality Carrier of the Year Award.
* ANZDL (Australia-New Zealand Direct Line) has won the Australian Quality Council's "Quality Award for Business Excellence," the council's highest-level award. ANZDL is the first and only ocean carrier to receive this award.
* Exxon Chemical Americas and Exxon Co. U.S.A. have given Linden Bulk Transportation Co. Inc. one of their "Supplier Excellence Awards." This award recognizes Exxon suppliers of material, services, and transportation that have demonstrated outstanding performance in areas such as service, safety, health and environmental standards, and quality management.
* Saddle Creek Corp., a third-party warehousing and distribution services provider, recently received the 1997 Distribution Partner of the Year award from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. The award is based on service, quality, inventory accuracy, and reporting.
* ABF Freight System Inc. has received the American Trucking Associations' 1998 President's Trophy for its outstanding safety record in the category of more than 20 million miles driven.
* H&H Unlimited Inc., a Brandon, Fla.-based Landstar Logistics agency, has earned GTE Directories' Supplier of the Year Award in the service category. To determine the winners, GTE Directories measures each supplier in four performance areas: customer service, product and service value, documentation, and delivery.
* Exxon Paramins has given Wolf Lake Terminals Inc. its Safety, Quality, & Performance Award. Since the two companies began doing business together in 1995, Wolf Lake has maintained a 99-percent success rate filling customer orders on behalf of Paramins.
* Logan Aluminum has awarded Prime Inc., a Springfield, Mo.-based international refrigerated and flatbed truckload carrier, its 1998 Outstanding Service Award. Logan recognized Prime for its "exceptional on-time performance, excellent equipment availability, and outstanding customer service."
