Fuel

By Daryl Delano -- Logistics Management, 1/1/1998

Diesel-fuel prices moved up an average of 2.0 percent during November, following a 5.7-percent rise the month before. Gasoline prices declined for the second consecutive month, however, and were 11.1 percent lower in November 1997 than they were a year earlier. Jet-fuel prices increased to their highest level since late last winter but remain well below late 1996 levels. We expect that prices of all fuels will be flat to slightly lower over the early months of 1998.
