Vastera Forms Pact With EXE
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 1/1/1999
Supply chain software provider EXE Technologies of Dallas has formed an alliance with Vastera of Chantilly, Va., which provides international trade software. Under the deal's terms, EXE will resell Vastera's import/export management software in conjunction with EXE's supply chain execution software. The agreement also calls for a long-term arrangement in which Vastera's EMS-2000 software will become a component of EXE's EXceed supply chain execution package. The planned EXE/Vastera integrated solution will share a common architecture and feature complementary software applications. "By integrating EXceed and EMS-2000 software solutions, we believe we are creating the next generation of global supply chain technologies," says Arjun Rishi, president of Vastera.
Vastera's software automates international trade documentation and oversees shipment consolidation, tariff management, and country-specific trade regulations for shippers doing business in North and South America, Europe, and Asia/Pacific. EXE was formed when two warehouse management systems providers--Dallas Systems and Neptune Systems--joined forces almost two years ago.
