Border Lines
A roundup of North American news:
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 1/1/1999
Now that many U.S. companies are serving both Canadian and U.S. markets from both sides of the border, U.S. shippers find themselves making greater use of Canadian motor carriers. How do you locate them? An up-to-date source of information is the Canadian Motor Carrier Directory, Sixth Edition, published by Transportation Technical Services (TTS). The directory, available in print and on computer disk, contains information on more than 2,100 companies. In addition to company address and contact information, the guide includes each hauler's standard carrier alpha code, type of operating authority, primary commodities transported, and details on leased and owned tractors and trailers. The cost for the print version is $95; data on disk plus a hard copy sells for $245. For more information, circle Reader Service No. 127 on the card in this issue.
