Forklifts Designed for Comfort, Productivity

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 1/1/1999

Daewoo's new T3 Series electric lift trucks feature greater operator comfort, improved narrow-aisle handling, and increased productivity, says the manufacturer.

To increase operator comfort, these 3,000- to 4,000-pound capacity cushion-tire trucks are designed with hydraulic control levers that are located at the armrest position to reduce fatigue. A standard, fully adjustable cloth seat and an adjustable tilt steering column can accommodate all operators and can be adjusted from outside the truck for safe vehicle entry. Hydrostatic steering ensures low-effort steering and smooth operation.

The T3 Series' narrow, 42-inch-wide design features a drive axle that combines a helical gear set with a planetary gear train to save space and reduce operation noise. An enclosed, maintenance-free rack-and-pinion steer axle provides leak-free, smooth operation. The T3 offers a 57- to 62-inch turning radius, depending on the model.

Unlike other lift trucks, the T3 Series lift trucks have oil-cooled disc brakes as standard equipment, says the manufacturer. Daewoo's oil-cooled disc brake system, located in the drive axle, is completely sealed to protect the friction material and separator plates from contamination by water, abrasives, or corrosives. It also prevents moisture build-up when freezer trucks enter warmer areas.

Two 4.8-hp drive motors power the T3 Series lift trucks. Steering and hydraulic functions are powered by a single 10.4-hp main hydraulic motor.
