Border Lines

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 2/1/1998

Revenue Canada is at it again. The Canadian customs service continues to make things easier for U.S. and Canadian exporters and importers. A new program allows approved motor carriers to integrate their shipment-tracking systems with Canada Customs' own Release Notification System (RNS) and ACROSS electronic data-interchange system. As a result, customers of those carriers now can follow a shipment's progress throughout the clearance process and obtain release confirmation online, 24 hours a day. The first LTL motor carriers to fully integrate their systems with Canada Customs are Roadway Express, Reimer Express Lines (Roadway's Canada-based subsidiary), and Consolidated Freightways.
