* NAFTA Notes: Roadway Express has been invited to join CANACAR, Mexico's national trucking association--the third U.S.-based motor carrier and the first less-than-truckload carrier to receive that honor. Canadian National opened a new network operations center in Edmonton, Alberta. The state-of-the-art communication center's 67 employees manage transcontinental train performance and asset utilization. Heiner Murmann has been named president and CEO of international logistics provider Schenker Canada. NVOCC Cargo International Logistics now offers over-the-road service for full and partial trailerloads via Laredo, Texas, to Mexico City. The company also offers LCL ocean service from New York, Baltimore, and Miami to 16 major cities in Mexico. Larry Hahn, director of regulatory affairs for Livingston International, has been elected chairman of the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers.
