When you have a need for speed

These providers of expedited transportation services can help you get critical and emergency shipments to their destinations on time.

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 2/1/1998

U.S. Xpress launched its Xpress Response service in November of last year. Xpress Response confirms availability of truckload capacity and firm pickup/delivery schedules within 30 minutes of a customer's call. The company says its pricing is below that of competitors, especially for truckload services. U.S. Xpress owns 2,800 tractors and has access to a nationwide network of contractors. The company's "Xpress Connect" tracking system lets shippers tender freight, track shipments, and exchange billing information with U.S. Xpress over the Internet.
