Water
By Daryl Delano -- Logistics Management, 2/1/1998
Average waterborne-freight prices rose by a relatively sharp 0.6 percent during December, pushed up by large increases for both inbound and outbound liner movements. The December increase for the overall water category followed three consecutive months of declines. For the year as a whole, inflation in the water-transport sector was only 0.4 percent. Overall water-freight price inflation should be only about 0.9 percent this year.
