Air

By Daryl Delano -- Logistics Management, 2/1/1998

Average aircargo prices dipped 0.2 percent during December 1997, following a slight rise during November. Prices in the aircargo sector remain the softest of the four major freight-transportation categories that we cover on this page. For 1997 as a whole, prices in the aircargo transport sector were down an average 1.2 percent; the other three freight modes recorded at least some average price increase over the year. We expect inflation to be on the order of 0.5 percent for the air sector during 1998.
