Peterbilt Truck Minimizes Costs
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 3/1/1999
Peterbilt says its Model 330 offers class 8 features in a class 7 truck. The model's corrosion-resistant aluminum cab and huckbolted cab and frame construction ensure durability. Because the steering gear is mounted outside the frame rail, the 330 provides better maneuverability. The 330 also is designed to minimize repair costs and shorten downtime. Its hood tilts 90 degrees for easy engine access. Peterbilt's unique two-piece windshield design makes it less expensive than a single-piece windshield to replace if damaged. In addition, the bumper has a three-piece design for quick and easy repair.
Customers may choose a standard Caterpillar engine or specify custom engines manufactured by either Caterpillar or Cummins. Popular features include a 4X2 tractor configuration standard with Easton 10,000 F/A and rear axles up to 40,000 pounds to meet a variety of vocational needs.
