Thermo King Introduces "Whisper Edition" Refrigeration System

Thermo King has developed a new "Whisper Edition" transport refrigeration system that is virtually noiseless. According to the manufacturer, the system is 87 percent quieter than other transport refrigeration units. The system features a fuel-saving, lightweight direct-injection engine and sound-deadening components, such as a special exhaust system and muffler, sound-proof composite insulation, and special door gaskets, to name a few.

Thermo King designed the system to aid fleets in driver retention while minimizing noise in sensitive areas such as residential neighborhoods. To make sure its system was truly extra-quiet, the manufacturer had more than 200 users test the Whisper Edition in the past two years.
