* For the 16th consecutive year, United Parcel Service has been rated America's most admired mail, package, and freight delivery company by respondents to a survey conducted for Fortune magazine. The survey measured quality of service, quality of management, financial performance, innovation, and environmental sensitivity.* Marietta Corp. has named ABF Freight System Inc. its 1998 Carrier of the Year. The award is based on the following criteria: carrier performance, claims ratio, meeting service standards, the carrier's quality process, and feedback from Marietta's customers.
* Dynamex Inc.'s Dedicated Fleet Services Division has received Southwestern Bell Communications' 1998 Quality Partner award. Dynamex was the only ground transportation provider to receive one of the awards.
* Hercules Inc., a Wilmington, Del.-based industrial-chemicals manufacturer, has named Miller Transporters Inc. as its Carrier of the Year. The annual award is based on carrier performance, complaints/claims record, plant input, and evaluation by the company's Corporate Purchasing & Distribution Department.
* RPS has received the first annual Transportation Provider of the Year award from Newell Co., a manufacturer and marketer of high-volume consumer products.
* Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. has named Cornerstone Systems as the best-performing Intermodal Carrier in 1998. Goodyear annually recognizes transportation companies that provide exemplary service.
* Acer Inc., a personal computer manufacturer, has named BAX Global Taiwan as one of its Outstanding Partners for 1998. The award is based on the carrier's excellence in providing continued logistical support to Acer.
