RPS Introduces International Shipping Software
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 4/1/1999
RPS Inc., a subsidiary of FDX Corp., has released CustomCLEAR, a new application of its RPS ACCESS software. The new package enables exporters to store international shipping data electronically and generate corresponding documents.RPS ACCESS is a PC-based system that links a shipper's computer with the RPS database for electronic access to shipping information. By activating the CustomCLEAR program, exporters can maintain a database of commodities most commonly shipped; generate commercial invoices, U.S. Shipper's Export Declarations, U.S. Certificates of Origin, and NAFTA Certificates of Origin; transmit shipment information to RPS and trace international shipments; and create templates for future international shipments.
CustomCLEAR also protects the shipper from submitting incomplete paperwork by blocking the printing of international shipping documents that do not include all of the necessary information required to clear U.S. Customs.
