Volvo Trucks North America Inc. now offers the Volvo 660, the newest addition to the Volvo VN Series. Designed for high-mileage team operators, the Volvo 660 will satisfy the needs of drivers who value ample living space, quality, and comfort at an affordable cost, says the manufacturer. The Volvo 660 features a driver's side Supplemental Restraint System airbag and a welded high-strength steel cab. Every time the ignition switch is engaged, electrical circuits are self-tested. In addition, the Volvo 660 comes equipped with reinforced dash panels, three-point safety belts, and an energy-absorbing steering column as standard features.
This class 8 truck's interior space includes a 61-inch sleeper area and a 98-inch stand-up height. A 30-inch aisle between seats makes moving between the sleeper and cab easy. The ergonomically designed wraparound dashboard allows drivers to read all gauges clearly. Many of these operations can be done without lifting a hand from the steering wheel.
Standard on the Volvo 660 and all other VN Series models, the improved instrument panel provides drivers and technicians with detailed diagnostic information, accurate gauge readings, and quick response to systems faults. With the panel's new driver information display unit, fault codes can be read without using a handheld diagnostic reader.
