NAFTA Notes: Burtram "Burt" Anderson, formerly vice president of U.S. border operations for Tower Group International, has retired. Anderson helped conceive and develop U.S. Customs' Line Release expedited processing program. He also played a prominent role in shaping the Border Cargo Selectivity program and NAFTA's border-crossing rules, regulations, and processes. The Canadian Industrial Transportation League has appointed Pierre Cadieux as its new president and general manager. Cadieux's experience includes consulting and strategic planning positions in government, international economic development, and transportation. The American Association of Port Authorities has named Stan Keyes "Port Person of the Year." Keyes, a Canadian member of parliament and parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Transport, was instrumental in developing legislation that will privatize the Canadian port system to make it more competitive. The Kingsley Group has named Juan Carlos Villa head of its Latin America consulting division, based in Mexico City. Emery Worldwide has named Wayne Hall division manager-Canada, with responsibility for sales, operations, and customer service for Emery's nine Canadian service centers.
