Tires
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 5/1/1999
Shippers who work closely with their carriers to control costs may want to start talking about the falling cost of tires. In March 1999, the average price of U.S.-made tires fell 2.3% from year-ago levels. And carriers have an opportunity now to push for even bigger tire price discounts. Why? Because the costs of synthetic rubber (down 6.4%) and tire cord (down 4.2%) have fallen even more dramatically than tire prices. Source: Thinking Cap Solutions. (360) 452-6159.
