ATA Publishes Analysis of U.S. Trucking Trends

The American Trucking Associations (ATA) has released the 1999 edition of American Trucking Trends, a guide to trucking facts and figures. Now in its 51st year of publication, Trends provides up-to-date statistics on trucking, its history, and the industry's impact on the national economy.

Compiled from many sources, the publication highlights data on trucking employment, safety, earnings, highway-user taxes, trucks and the environment, and much more. It also provides a profile of the dynamics that have shaped the trucking industry during the past decade.

"Trucks safely move 81 percent of the nation's freight ....
