When time is of the essence...

New materials-handling equipment designed to boost productivity helps warehouse workers move, store, and cross-dock goods quickly

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 6/1/1998

Diamond Phoenix has introduced an enhanced light-directed picking display. The Diamond LTS 6-8 Vertical Light Tree and Horizontal Sort Bar have been redesigned to simplify assembly and operation and ensure ease of maintenance.

Designed to communicate picking and order-sorting instructions between the computer and carousel workstation operator, the light display messages are readable from more than 20 feet. Up to 48 alphanumeric displays can be arranged on a single light tree or sort bar and adjusted to any height position or configuration without needing tools or rewiring.

A single cable provides RS-485 communications and 24-volt alternating current from display to display, utilizing snap-in connectors. Use of the single cable simplifies wiring, repair, and system debugging.
