When time is of the essence...

New materials-handling equipment designed to boost productivity helps warehouse workers move, store, and cross-dock goods quickly

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 6/1/1998

Mitsubishi has added an electric 3,000-pound capacity walkie stacker reach truck, Model PMWS15, to its line of narrow-aisle trucks. This new truck can maneuver easily in an aisle less than nine feet wide, whereas conventional counterbalanced trucks require 10 or more feet. It also can maneuver over dock plates with the addition of optional large single-load wheels.

The truck's control handles are built for operator comfort. The design features twist grips that are angled to match the natural orientation of the operator's hand and the ergonomically neutral position for walking and riding. The twist grip comes in a soft, non-slip textured sponge surface.

All of the truck's hydraulic functions are conveniently located on the control handle within the operator's reach. Auxiliary hydraulics are routed inside the mast for enhanced operator vision. The 3,000-pound mast offers two lifting heights, 152 and 189 inches.

Options include conditioning for cold storage applications, power carriage tilt, sideshift, and battery compartment rollers.
