New materials-handling equipment designed to boost productivity helps warehouse workers move, store, and cross-dock goods quickly

Remstar's new horizontal carousel system features integrated controls that enable safe, efficient operation of up to four horizontal carousels per controller. The integrated controls increase productivity, reduce operating costs, and enable fail-safe operation of groups of horizontal carousels.

The carousel also features top-drive design. The location of the drive at the top of carousel, rather than the bottom, provides greater strength and reliability and thus reduces required maintenance. Remstar says uptime for its equipment approaches 99.5 percent.

Optional productivity-improvement features include computer controls and picklight technology. The system also has a safety feature, the "E-stop circuit," which maintains a fail-safe circuit. If this circuit is broken, it will shut down the system to prevent injuries to workers.
