EProphesy.com, an all-inclusive and free Web portal site for the transportation industry, has changed its name to mile.com to help users locate the site more easily. This site offers direct access to 20 online load-matching services.MicroAnalytics recently expanded its TruckStops Routing & Scheduling System's interface with ALK Associates' PC*MILER product line to include the PC*MILER 2000 products. The TruckStops/PC*MILER interface, developed in 1998, allows users to determine the optimum route sequence with TruckStops and then calculate the mileage and produce driving directions from PC*MILER.
Pacer International, a North American freight transportation and logistics services provider, has consolidated its cartage capabilities into a single operating group known as Pacer Cartage.
Hoover Materials Handling Group Inc., an industrial packaging products and services provider, has acquired Plymouth Manufacturing, a manufacturer of agriculture equipment and associated materials-handling systems.
GeoLogistics Corp. has renamed its international executive relocation division Matrix International Logistics Inc. The renaming decision was based on the strength of Matrix's name in the relocation industry and its loyal customer base.
Atlanta-based third-party logistics provider, Burnham, has opened a new multiclient logistics facility in Las Vegas, Nev. The facility is the newest of the more than 240 single and multiclient facilities in Burnham's integrated network.
USAcourier.com, a national same-day courier and delivery company operating on the Internet, has launched its second same-day delivery Web site (NEXTflightOUT.net). This new site handles all same-day deliveries that require the inclusion of a commercial air carrier.
To strengthen its global transportation and logistics support services, Alliance International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Alliance Shippers Inc., now provides customs clearance services through its St. Louis, Mo.; Savannah, Ga.; and Atlanta offices.
Ryder System Inc. has acquired the truck-leasing-related assets of Case Leasing & Rental Inc. of Celina, Ohio. The assets were integrated with those of Ryder Transportation Services, the company's commercial truck leasing, rental, and maintenance business unit.
