Software companies form alliances
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 1/1/2000
The trend toward forming alliances between software companies continued through the end of 1999 as software companies sought partners to expand their market reach. One such deal links supply chain planning software vendor i2 Technologies of Dallas and the consulting firm Arthur Andersen of Chicago. The two companies say their partnership will help organizations devise e-business solutions.Another recent partnership brings together IBM of White Plains, N.Y., and EXE Technologies of Dallas. The two companies say their strategic relationship will provide integrated e-business solutions using their combined software and systems for companies in such industries as consumer packaged goods, electronics, retail, and wholesale distribution.
In addition, software vendor Lilly Software Associates (LSA) of Hampton, N.H., and eSYNC International of Toledo, Ohio, have joined hands to provide systems and integration services for LSA's supply chain software to customers in the third-party logistics and grocery industries.
