Four companies change their handles
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 3/1/2000
A number of logistics-technology companies this past month changed their names to establish new marketing identities. Bar-code-printer manufacturer Marsh Co. of Wood Dale, Ill., has renamed itself Marconi Data Systems Inc. Marsh is a subsidiary of Videojet Systems International of Wood Dale, Ill., and the name change supports the recent rebranding of Videojet's parent group from GEC to Marconi PLC. Marsh sells ink-jet printing equipment and supplies.Software integrator Richter Systems of New York City has switched its name to Essentus International Inc. The name change reflects the company's emphasis on providing business-to-business services and solutions such as application hosting services in the soft-goods industry.
Likewise, VIT of Palo Alto, Calif., has become SeeCommerce. The company sells Web-enabled applications that monitor and measure the performance of functions such as logistics, providing more visibility of a company's supply chain.
Finally, Paragon Management Systems Inc. of Newport Beach, Calif., has rechristened itself Adexa. The company says the new moniker emphasizes the "adaptability" and "dexterity" of its collaborative planning solution.
