Knockdown Container Offers Improved Durability, Repairability

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 3/1/2000

ORBIS has added the 3230 bulk KD (knockdown) container series to its 4845 KD container line. Both the 3230 and the 4845 container series incorporate the best aspects of other bulk KDs but go further by improving durability, repairability, and identification options, according to the manufacturer.

ORBIS's KD containers come in a 32- by 30-inch footprint or a 48- by 45-inch footprint and in heights of up to 34 inches. These containers can handle up to 2,000 pounds of material and can be ordered in varying heights and colors, with access doors and custom interiors to meet individual requirements.

The BulkPak 3230 series features a replaceable strap to reduce runner/strap damage, stackable units to improve handling and storage, multiple access-door options for easy access, ergonomic latches and fingertip tabs to make assembly and collapse simple, and a rack-compatible design to optimize storage space.

For the BulkPak 4845 series, features include bulk stack-only containers in 17- to 20-inch heights, a structural foam load-bearing cover to protect contents from damage, access doors available on all four sides for easy access to contents, and a reinforced base for improved durability.
