Wire-Mesh Containers Built for Durability

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 3/1/2000

awp industries inc. now offers its reusable rigid wire-mesh containers, which have weight capacities of up to 6,000 pounds. These containers stack four high while loaded.

Engineered for repeated long-term use, these containers feature a full perimeter base-frame understructure made of 2-inch steel U-channel. Angle iron rigid corner posts and heavy-duty support legs are reinforced by double triangular gussets and are welded inside the base frame's steel U-channels.

The wire-mesh containers are built with double--vertical and horizontal--reinforcing wire rods at critical stress points. Every crossover point is welded to optimize strength. A steel collar holds the front, back, and gate panels securely in place. To ensure that wire mesh panels do not separate from the container's understructure, "U" loops are contained within the base-frame channel.

Container options include fork entry sleeves for 2- or 4-way entry, casters, runner bars, and security lids. The units also can be special ordered with identification tags, labels, and cardholders. Customized container sizes also are available to meet specific requirements.
