Freight Forwarders/Customs Brokers-Emery Worldwide has launched its "Non-Resident Importer of Record Program," which is designed to assist exporters that sell on a "Delivery Duty Paid" (DDP) basis in managing overseas customs compliance. Germany's Schenker AG and Seino Transportation Co. of Japan have formed a strategic alliance for integrated logistics and freight-forwarding services. Schenker now is Seino's sole agent in Europe, and the partners have established a joint venture in Japan. Tokyo-based Kintetsu World Express and TNT Post Group of the Netherlands are cooperating to provide integrated logistics solutions in Europe and Asia, particularly in the airfreight and express markets. Panalpina has acquired logistics consulting and management company Avalog AG of Switzerland. Avalog will help design complete logistics solutions for Panalpina's clients. YCS International, a subsidiary of Yellow Freight Corp., has signed agreements with Skybridge S.A. in Argentina and Transaircargo Ltda. in Chile to expand its service offerings in South America. Hellmann Global Logistics has launched a new air/ocean service for cargo moving from Asia to Latin America. Shipments arrive by ocean vessel in Los Angeles and then are transferred either by air directly to Latin American destinations or via truck to Miami and then via air to the final destination. PBB Global Logistics has purchased Global Transport Services, a Houston-based project cargo forwarder that specializes in serving the oil and gas industries.

Ocean carriers-ANZDL (Australia-New Zealand Direct Line) has created a separate Web site (www.myanzdl.com) that is dedicated solely to conducting freight transactions, including matters concerning rate quotes, bookings, documentation, tracking and tracing, and sailing schedules.
