Pacer International, a North American freight transportation and logistics provider, has acquired RFI Group Inc., a non-asset-based freight-forwarding and customs-brokerage firm.
Logistics Consulting Group Inc. has launched a new business unit, LCG PA (Performance Auditing). Its Web site, www.lcgpa.com , offers small-package shippers refund recovery, rate negotiation, e-commerce shipment performance analysis, and distribution strategy development services.

The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Co. has implemented a Web-based freight-billing and -payment application. Called ePay, the service allows customers to manage their freight-payment process online. Customers can order cars, provide billing instructions and car-switching information, track and trace shipments, and pay for cars via the BNSF Web site.
GoFreight.com , provider of real-time software applications to the transportation industry, has announced the acquisition of LoadsOnline.com , a load-posting and freight-matching site.
