CLM conference will focus on e-commerce
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 4/1/2000
Given the proliferation of electronic commerce applications and the implications that has for logistics managers, it's not surprising that the Council of Logistics Management will focus on that issue at its annual conference this year.
The theme for the conference, scheduled to meet in New Orleans from Sept. 24-27, is "RedefiningLogistics.com." Bryan Kelln, president and CEO of RockShox Inc. and general conference chairman, said in a prepared statement, "The dot-com revolution is redefining the way business is being conducted on a global scale. The conference will feature hundreds of contemporary case-study profiles of dot-com challenges and opportunities for executives in logistics."
In addition to the e-commerce sessions, the conference will feature tracks on emerging technologies and global strategies and operations. All told, the annual event will offer more than 40 different logistics-related tracks.
The CLM conference has become the premier logistics education conference in North America, annually attracting upwards of 6,000 participants. This year, the conference will be held in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Registration for the conference will open in May. CLM will offer members a discounted registration fee through June 30, and registration will close on Sept. 8. No walk-in registrations will be available this year.
More information on the conference, speakers, and track topics is available at CLM's Web site, www.clm1.org.
