Isuzu's Trucks Are Customized From the Ground Up
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 4/1/2000
Isuzu refers to its F-Series as "the most efficient line of medium-duty trucks available." The F-Series includes the FRR, FSR, FTR, and FVR, with gross vehicle weight ratings of 18,000 or 19,500 pounds; 23,100 pounds; 25,950 or 30,000 pounds; and 33,000 pounds, respectively. Each truck is built to the customer's specifications.
The F-Series trucks now include some new and improved features, such as a new front windshield with 5 degrees of extra forward visibility and 6 percent more glass area. Isuzu also enlarged the passenger-side window by 12 percent to make parking easier.
To save time during routine maintenance, the F-Series trucks' tilt-cab design provides easy engine access, and the front panel allows quick access to the heater core, A/C dryer, A/C evaporator, wiper motor and linkage, clutch and windshield reservoirs, and the main cab-to-chassis electrical connector.
The F-Series cab was designed for driver comfort. It features a door that opens a full 85 degrees and offers increased room for heads, elbows, and legs. Isuzu also redesigned the driver's seat-the new seat comes with fully adjustable lumbar support and a high-back cushion.
