Navistar International 4000 Series Trucks Emphasize Visibility

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 4/1/2000

Navistar International Transportation Corp.'s 4000 series trucks feature 50,000 to 110,000 psi frame rails. For extra-severe applications, optional C-channel or inverted L reinforcements can be spec'd. The frame also includes one-piece dogbone cross-members that are strong and lightweight.

Other features include a 3,037-square-inch windshield for excellent visibility, a sloped aero hood that provides a commanding view of the road, a one-piece steel door frame, and headlights and integral turn signals that are flush-mounted and sealed for protection against corrosion and damage.

Front axles are available with capacities of up to 16,000 pounds.

Four wheel hydraulic disc brakes provide maximum stopping power. Air brakes are also available, with standard automatic slack adjusters that lengthen routine service intervals.
