Study says tomorrow's WMS buyers will be choosier
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 5/1/2000
Companies buying warehouse management systems (WMS) are expected to become more selective when choosing a software vendor in the year ahead. That's the conclusion of a new study from Venture Development corp. (VDC) in Natick, Mass.
Because the new buyers of WMS systems will be mid-size and smaller companies with limited information-technology budgets, these purchasers are expected to be fussier. Despite the increased scrutiny, VDC still expects the WMS software market, now valued at $685 million, to grow at an average annual rate of 20 to 25 percent over the next five years.
