Kewill to expand its e-commerce services
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 6/1/2000
British-based Kewill E Commerce, a division of Kewill Systems, has inked two agreements that will allow it to broaden the services it provides to shippers.
The first pact was signed with PostMaster Software Inc. of Boca Raton, Fla., which makes postal automation software. Under that arrangement, Kewill's customers will gain access to PostMaster's programs to automate forms processing for certified mail, registered mail, merchandise returns, and customs declaration.
Kewill E Commerce signed the second agreement with New York City-based Syntra, which develops and markets international-trade software and provides online services for global procurement. Syntra will upgrade Kewill's Windows-based international document management software, SPEX, and add regulatory compliance and landed cost capabilities to SPEX. Under the terms of the agreement, Kewill has granted Syntra an exclusive global license to market SPEX. In addition, SPEX will be Web-hosted on Kewill.net, an online portal that allows Kewill's customers to obtain access to logistics, business software, and supply chain information.
Kewill Systems, the Surrey, England-based parent of Kewill E Commerce, provides a broad range of electronic commerce solutions. It offers supply chain software and multi-carrier shipping and manifest systems that support rating, tracking, labeling, and document processing for a number of parcel carriers.
