Blue Streak Software Recognizes Speech
Vocollect Inc. has released "Blue Streak," a speech-recognition software program. It offers significant enhancement in such areas as digit recognition and noise rejection, the company says.
The program uses Hidden Markov Model voice-recognition technology. When installed in Vocollect's wearable computer devices, the software recognizes user responses while filtering irrelevant background noises.
ASP Trade Solution
The "Global Commerce Knowledge Base" from NextLinx provides information needed to export, import, and ship products from any country to any country in the world. The database provides information on such topics as duty, VAT, and excise taxes; total landed costs; and customs-clearance documentation, while maintaining data on more than 19,000 Harmonized Tariff System product classifications. NextLinx offers its global trade solution on an Application Service Provider (ASP) basis.
Software Features Expanded Database
The enhanced version of PC*Miler 14 from ALK Associates features an expansion of the software's routing database to cover 657,000 North American road miles and 13,500 additional locations for a total of 308,000 accessible locations. It also includes an update of all 13-foot 6-inch height restrictions in the U.S. highway network, construction updates, and all five-digit U.S. ZIP codes for the year 2000.
