TranScape and webMethods deal promises easier integration
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 8/1/2000
TranScape, a vendor of transportation management software (TMS), has partnered with webMethods Inc., which makes software for business integration. Under the agreement's terms, TranScape will embed webMethods' technology into its Conquest software package, allowing customers to exchange information between the TMS and order-fulfillment package with other business systems over secure lines in real time.
webMethods has developed software that supports a number of electronic commerce standards and protocols, including XML and RosettaNet. "By integrating webMethods' business-to-business [capabilities] with Conquest software, TranScape's clients will be able to leverage open standards and protocols to rapidly integrate to back-end systems," says Phillip Merrick, CEO of webMethods.
