Hub Group Inc. says it will implement Logistics.com's Strategic Profitability Analysis (SPA) yield management tool. Hub Group is the first third-party logistics provider to license the decision-support tool and will use it across all modes of transportation.

FedEx Supply Chain Services, a third-party provider of integrated supply chain solutions, plans to open a global headquarters in Chantilly, Va., for its officers and their direct staff in October. The FedEx subsidiary will continue to operate its administrative center in Hudson, Ohio.

Con-Way Central Express (CCX), a less-than-truckload commercial freight carrier, has opened its second new high-volume freight assembly center within the last 30 days. The Salem, Ill., facility began operations on Aug. 7, close on the heels of the opening of a Louisville, Ky., site in July.

Averitt Express has added a new Standard Definite transportation service for time-sensitive LTL freight. If the freight does not arrive by the published service time, the shipper's invoice will be voided.

Transport International Pool (TIP) has introduced TIP FastLane, a real-time, Web-based over-the-road trailer reservation resource. Customers can reserve equipment online and get real-time confirmation.
