Pacer International, a freight transportation and logistics services provider, has named Will Cogswell vice president for sales operations and marketing for the logistics division. He joins the company from Matson Intermodal Systems.
Schenker Inc. has named Hartmut Luehr president and chief executive officer. He was previously responsible for the worldwide product management of sea freight and for global key account management at Schenker AG.
SupplyLinks Inc., an Internet-based global supply chain management network and logistics service provider, has announced the appointment of W. Roger Curry to its board of directors. In his new position, Curry will take an active role in helping SupplyLinks expand its worldwide network of carriers, freight forwarders, and other service providers.
Interroll Corp.,a designer and manufacturer of conventional and high-tech materials-handling conveyor components and systems, has appointed Steve Vineis vice president of sales and marketing. Vineis will be responsible for overseeing all U.S. sales and marketing activities for the Wilmington, N.C.-based company.
GeoLogistics Corp. has added three freight-forwarding and logistics industry veterans to its senior staff. Tom Post was named vice president for Asia/Pacific Development. Skip Dokken is the company's new director of global marketing, and Mike Bartyczak is the new associate general counsel and legal director. All are based in Santa Ana, Calif.
Hendrickson International, a supplier of heavy-duty truck- and trailer-suspension systems and components, has promoted two executives. Keith Stephenson was named president, truck-suspension systems and global business development. Mike Walter has taken on new responsibilities as general manager, truck-suspension systems.
Australia-New Zealand Direct Line (ANZDL) has promoted Hardy Pearson to the position of vice president, customer service and operations. Pearson will be located in the Santa Ana, Calif., office and will oversee the centralized customer-service department as well as all operational, quality, and training activities.
Con-Way Transportation Services has promoted Robert Moody from manager of claims administration to director. He will continue to manage the daily functions of claims administration as well as the assessment and application of new technologies to the claim process, development of claim-prevention techniques, and process-improvement initiatives.
Welborn Transport, a flatbed trucking company, has announced that founder and former president Steven S. Rumsey has rejoined the company as its chief executive officer following a year-long corporate assignment at parent company Boyd Bros. Transportation Inc.
Michael E. Crawford has joined eflatbed.com, an online marketplace for flatbed motor carriers and shippers, as vice president of information technology. He joins the company from Keane Inc. Also in a new position at eflatbed.com is James G. Ruiz, who will serve as director of strategic development. He most recently was a buyer for AK Steel Co.
Watkins Motor Lines of Lakeland, Fla., has announced the promotion of Dave Geren to vice president of linehaul. He has been with the company for 10 years.
Allied Holdings Inc. has named William R. Burgess president and chief executive officer of its Allied Automotive Group unit. Prior to joining Allied, Burgess was president of Florida-based Lykes Bros.' citrus processing division and of Lykes Bros.' transportation unit.
David Patti has been promoted to senior vice president, operations for American Trans-Freight LLC (ATF).ATF, which recently acquired Redwood Systems, is a full-service transportation company specializing in trucking, intermodal, logistics services, and dedicated fleet operations. Patti will have operations responsibility for ATF's truck line and third-party logistics divisions.
ShipLogix, a supplier of Internet-based transportation-management software, has named Exel plc Chief Operating Officer Bob Lake to its board of directors. He has been with Exel since 1995 and has spent 24 years in the transportation/logistics field.
Webmodal Inc., an e-commerce company specializing in domestic intermodal transportation, has appointed Sam F. Niness III vice president of strategic business development. He joins the company from Conrail's multimodal subsidiary, ConrailDirect, where he served as president and general manager.
U.S. Xpress Enterprises Inc. has announced that Cort J. Dondero has joined the company as executive vice president, chief operating officer, and a member of the board of directors. Dondero will be responsible for all operational functions of the company.
