Supply Chain Software Vendor Sells Its TMS App

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 11/1/2000

A leading vendor of supply chain software has divested itself of its transportation management software (TMS) application to focus on e-commerce. Optum Inc. of White Plains, N.Y., has sold its TMS assets, formerly known as MetaFreight, to Advanced Technologies and Services LLC, a systems integrator based in Wallingford, Conn. No sale price for the transaction was disclosed.

In announcing the divestiture, Optum President David J. Simbari said the move would allow his company to focus on its e-marketplaces and engines for commerce platforms. Optum has retained its software applications for warehousing and small-parcel management.
