Pittsburgh Logistics Systems (PLS), a provider of third-party logistics services to the metals industry, has launched eflatbed.com, a site dedicated to flatbed truck traffic. The new site allows flatbed carriers to log on and view available freight in lanes across the entire United States and parts of Canada.
Pacer International, a freight transportation and logistics provider, has acquired GTS Transportation Services, a non-asset-based logistics and truck-brokerage operation.
Total Logistic Control (TLC), a provider of third-party logistics services, has announced that it has acquired The Pro Source Group Inc. of Aurora, Ill. Pro Source's president, Robert Koerner, was named president and chief operating officer of Total Logistic Control.
In another merger, returnable packaging provider Menasha Services has acquired National Consolidation Services (NCS), which provides transportation and freight consolidation services for Walgreens.
GeoLogistics Corp. has created a new program to meet the logistics and freight transportation needs of the publishing industry. The company offers a customized program of global air, ocean, and ground transportation; customs brokerage; warehousing; data tracking and reporting; and a dedicated customer-service team specifically for the publishing industry.
Kaba Benzing, a supplier of Enterprise Data Collection (EDC) technologies and services, has acquired Miami-based Applied Automation Techniques Inc. (AAT), provider of time- and labor-management solutions in North America. Under the leadership of its current management, AAT will operate under the new name Kaba Benzing America.
