Emery Worldwide, a wholly owned subsidiary of CNF, has named Chutta Ratnathicam as its chief executive officer. Ratnathicam succeeds Roger Piazza, who has retired. The new CEO most recently served as CNF's senior vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to that, he served as Emery's vice president-international and as interim CEO of Emery for a brief period in 1998 before Piazza's appointment.
Orient Overseas (International) Ltd. (OOIL) has announced the appointment of Nicholas D. Sims to the position of chief financial officer. He joins the company from the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp. Ltd., where he was managing director, Wayfoong Shipping Services.
Menlo Logistics, a worldwide logistics company, has named Frank Lange director of international development. Lange, who most recently held a similar position with Burnham Service Corp., has worked in Europe and Asia for the past 15 years and will operate from Menlo's international headquarters in Redwood City, Calif. Also new to Menlo is Daan Snaathorst (right), who is serving as director of business development for Europe. He speaks English, French, German, and Japanese and will be working from Menlo's offices in Amsterdam.
Andrea Bolch has been promoted to the position of senior vice president, North America at Australia-New Zealand Direct Line (ANZDL). She was promoted from her role as vice president, commercial, where she managed the commercial and pricing departments.
